Weiser Friends of the Fiddle, Inc., is a non-profit charitable organization recognized under section 501(c)(3) of the federal tax code. Donations are tax deductible. Weiser Friends of the Fiddle is a membership organization made up of volunteers who are primarily musicians who travel to Weiser every June to be part of the festivities and play music with old and new friends at the property known as Stickerville, which is owned and operated by Weiser Friends of the Fiddle. We are education focused, offering workshops and other learning experiences, all at no charge.
Weiser Idaho is a small rural community located in southwest Idaho. Every June, magic happens in this town because of the National Oldtime Fiddle Contest. Festivities take place throughout the town as expert fiddlers come from all over the country to compete. Because of the contest, fiddle music lovers gather throughout Weiser. Traditional old time musicians gather in Stickerville and other areas to keep this music alive.
Musicians camp in the area around the Intermountain Industrial Institute, on the lawn by Slocum Hall (owned by the National Oldtime Fiddle Contest), by Hooker Hall (owned by the Snake River Heritage Center) & Fiddletown (across Paddock Ave, owned by the National Oldtime Fiddle Contest). Stickerville is a piece of property adjacent to Hooker Hall (across the ally).
We put on an annual Western Swing Dance in memory of our dear friend, Stickerville Camper, Musician, Songwriter & Dance Organizer, Nancy Thorwardson & invite all to join us for the dancing fun.
We rely on funds earned from camping fees, membership dues, workshop donations, merchandise sales and general donations to pay for things like porta potties, grounds maintenance, insurance, workshops, tent rental and more. Inflation and the increased cost of living have affected our small organization. Between 2021 and 2022, the cost of porta potties went up about 10 times (1000%)!!! All other expenses have increased, as well. If you are part of our Weiser family, believe in what we are doing, and want to have a say in how things are run in Stickerville, we invite you to join us and become a member. Our annual membership meeting will be on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at 3:15pm, under the Event Tent in Stickerville.
